How sales tax works
All items shipped to destinations in Canada are subject to Canadian Goods and Services Tax (“GST”) at 5%. In addition, Harmonized Sales Tax (“HST”) or Provincial Sales Tax (“PST”) may apply, depending on the item and the destination of the shipment.

GST/HST tax break
In accordance with Canadian law, Newegg participates in the GST/HST tax break. For a complete list of eligible and ineligible items and the dates it is in effect, see the GST/HST Tax Break info page.
Marketplace sales: Effective January 1, 2024, Newegg became responsible for collecting and remitting Canadian sales taxes on all Marketplace sales transactions. Newegg charges tax on Marketplace items the same way it does for direct Newegg sales.
